How a J&L home gets built

The process J&L already publishes, laid out clearly. Every step below is taken from the company's own description of how a build runs.

Step 01
Choose a Plan & Homesite
Your first step in building a home is deciding which homesite you want to build your new home on. Our expert Sales Professionals assist you in selecting the right plan on the right homesite for you.
Step 02
Selecting a Lender
J&L Vision is partnered with well-known, local lenders to provide excellent mortgage services. Our lender partners are prepared to help you select the right loan product to fit your needs and then see it through to an on-time closing.
Step 03
Breaking Ground
J&L Vision Homes works quickly behind the scenes ordering materials and securing permits to begin construction on your new home. It is very exciting to see your new home foundation as your home begins to take shape.
Step 04
Framing & Rough-in Stage
After completing the foundation, J&L Vision Homes frames your new home. We begin roughing in electrical, HVAC, and plumbing components. Your new home also receives a number of important municipal inspections during this time.
Step 05
Insulation & Sheetrock Stage
At this stage, your home comes to life. Rooms begin to take shape and you can actually begin to visualize furniture placement.
Step 06
Interior Trim Installation
All of the finishes you choose at your Design Appointment begin to arrive in your new home. Paint, cabinets, tile, hardwoods, countertops and lighting are installed as we work to finish construction.
Step 07
Closing Date Assignment
Once cabinets are installed, a closing date is assigned. Time to make moving plans, contact your lender if applicable, and lock your interest rate.
Step 08
New Home Orientation
Two weeks prior to closing, a J&L Vision Homes Quality Assurance Representative conducts an informative Home Orientation with you — the inner workings, care and maintenance of your new home, and any fit and finish concerns.
Step 09
Final Walk
The final walk-through is conducted one to two days prior to your close date. The goal is to make sure you are satisfied with your J&L Vision home before going to closing.
Step 10
Closing Day
Your closing appointment generally takes about one hour and is the final step to ownership. Remember to bring your driver's license. After closing you are finally able to move in.
